We are a Values-based School

Holy Family

Catholic Primary School

At Holy Family we grow, learn and succeed in the footsteps of Jesus

Music

At Holy Family music is fun and it is for everyone!

We want every child to be enriched by the love of music through singing, performing, listening and composing.

We believe that it encourages creativity and teamwork. It develops learning skills and self-confidence.

In fact, music is an educational building block that boosts attainment across the wider curriculum.

Music plays an important part in every school day, from assemblies and hymn practices to music curriculum lessons and ensembles.  Children are encouraged to join in any number of our musical activities.

Mrs Cooper is a music specialist teacher delivering in every key stage, from Nursery to Year 6.

We use the new Model Music Curriculum, and we are proud of our Music Mark Award for outstanding music provision.

What our children experience:

● Weekly curriculum music lessons

● Hymn practice and Listening Repertoire

● Whole class instrument lessons on tuned percussion, recorder, clarinet and samba

 ● A Junior Choir weekly after school

● Samba Band Ensemble - Weekly during lunchtime for Y5 and Y6

● Ongoing performance and concert opportunities in school and the wider community

● Instrumental lessons on piano, recorder, flute, violin and viola, provided by Trafford  Music Service

Summer Performances

The culmination of all these musical experiences is our Summer Concert. This gives a platform for all our musicians, at whatever level, to perform to a friendly and supportive audience.  The self-confidence and sense of achievement gained through this event is palpable and such a wonderful skill for our children to be developing at such a key stage.

We are looking forward to reaping the rewards of another musical year!
