Welcome to Year 2
Hello and welcome to Year 2! My name is Mrs McConnell, and I am delighted to be teaching Year 2 this year at Holy Family.
I live in Timperley with my husband and our two children, Evie and Sonny. Evie is in Year 4 and Sonny is in Year 2. They both love playing football and are passionate Liverpool supporters, which definitely would not have been my team of choice! As a family, we enjoy spending time together and supporting the children in all their activities.
I feel incredibly proud to be part of the Holy Family community. It is a very special school, and I am passionate about our school values: Growing Our Hearts and Minds, Passionate About Learning, We Care About Respect, and Together We Succeed. These values are at the heart of everything we do in Year 2 and are woven throughout every aspect of our curriculum and daily school life.
Year 2 is an exciting stage in your child's learning journey. Throughout the year, the children will have opportunities to explore a range of engaging and inspiring topics, helping them to develop new skills, knowledge and confidence. We strive to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best.
Our school mission statement is also an important part of life in Year 2. We aim to create a learning environment where children can walk in the footsteps of Jesus, showing kindness, compassion and respect to others while growing in faith and learning.
On this page, you will find key information about what your child will be learning throughout the year. We will also share regular updates, celebrations and highlights of our learning on Seesaw and through our social media channels. Please keep checking back for news, important information and lots of exciting examples of the wonderful work taking place in Year 2.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and to working together to help every child thrive.
